Bauer Foundation Corp receives fourth task order at Herbert Hoover Dike

Odessa, Fla. – Bauer Foundation Corp. is proud to announce the award of a fourth task order at Lake Okeechobee on the Herbert Hoover Dike Rehabilitation Project.   The award was announced  on Friday, Oct. 21st by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District.

This is the second U.S. Army Corps of Engineers award received by BFC within one month. On September 22nd, BFC was awarded a $106 million dollar contract for the Center Hill Dam Remediation at the Center Hill Dam in Tennessee by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District Office.

“I have immense pride in the receipt of this award.  This is the fourth task order BAUER has received for the Herbert Hoover Dike Rehabilitation Project and shows that we are providing a quality product and consistently performing to, and many times exceeding, our clients expectations,” says Charles Puccini, President and CEO of BFC.

The fourth task order is valued at $5 million dollars and will extend BFC’s work on the dike for several months.

Emplacement of the additional cutoff wall in the upcoming section of the dike provides risk reduction benefits to the surrounding area’s population and residential, commercial and industrial properties.  The cutoff wall serves as a barrier to water pathways, which can lead to internal erosion, which can compromise the entire structure.

The cutoff wall extends from approximately six feet from the top of the dike through the foundation to several feet beyond the limestone bedrock, averaging 60 to 80 feet – or about five stories – below the crest of the dike.
